I began my journey at Enterprise Fitness in April 2015, in a state of needing guidance on how to care for my body. My goal was to repair my physical self from past illness and learn how to train and nourish my body for life. I didn’t realise when I met Mark Ottobre and made him aware of my goal, that it was really going to happen and more!!
I was very nervous about this journey as I had spent the past six years of my life in ill health and a very inadequate relationship with food. When I meet my trainer Ross Newland for the first time, I noted that he was listening to me, so it was off to a good start! He created a program to repair my physical state and eventually begin to challenge me.
The most amazing part of what Enterprise Fitness has offered me was making me feel comfortable to share stories of my life that I have not shared with anyone. I took the first step to open up and it was the best decision of my life. I had previously not paid a lot of attention to the psychological component of my ill health because it was all too hard and I was seeking support from the wrong people.
I had been seeking help from the medical professional for some time and the only treatment that I had ever been offered was medication. I knew that medication was not the answer to everything and I needed a lifestyle change, that’s when the team at Enterprise Fitness jumped in and did what needed to be done.
Ross spends session after session making me understand the connection between my mind and my body. He has provided me more psychological support than I have had from any medical professional. For the first time ever things make sense and life, family, work, training, eating and my health all add up! I still have work to do, but I know that I can only go forward from this experience.
I am eternally grateful to Ross, Kristine, Mark and Anna from Enterprise Fitness. Enterprise Fitness is not just a gym, it is a place of knowledge, where learning and sharing takes place. It is the place where I know I will be greeted with a genuine smile when I walk through the door.
