I made the decision to compete in a Fitness Competition mid last year.
I started training around September/October but by December, when my results had stagnated (i.e. body fat not changing, lack of energy, body wasn’t budging, etc), I knew that I would no way be ready for my first competition on 5th March so I had to make a change as I was paying for a service with no results.
I did a Google search on competition preparation and Enterprise Fitness were the first ones that came up (always a good sign 🙂 ). I checked out their website and was absolutely blown away! They had several phenomenal before and afters, loads of competition experience and from what I could see, a lot of winners as well. I made the phone call and spoke to Jaz and she immediately made me feel comfortable and I spoke to her about my nutrition thus far and my exercise program. She made me see that I was putting my health at risk so I asked if I could be paired with one of their master trainers, Reece (due to my competition date deadline).
I had initially told Reece I was aiming to compete in Sports/Fitness model, but within 2 weeks, my body had transformed so dramatically that he ended up telling me that we were going for the Figure division. Needless to say, I was stoked! He knew my body better than me and I put my absolute trust within him – I followed everything he told me to do, no questions asked.
He took care of my nutrition, exercise program and was there for me 200% as a support and confidante. I can’t believe the amount of knowledge he was able keep stored in his brain, and I kept on learning and soaking it up like a sponge. He had also competed himself so he completely understood the process and how it can mess with your mind. Never once did he put any doubt in mind that we couldn’t do this – and we were only 10 weeks out from my first comp at this stage!
I am blown away by the results I was able to achieve in this very short amount of time. I lost over 14% body fat and 11kg by the time 5th March rolled around…. and I had only signed up to Enterprise Fitness on the 24th December!!!!!!
The ICN Rookie was my first competition and with the short preparation time that I had, I couldn’t have been happier or more excited to place in one of my divisions. Reece was with me on the day of course, ensuring that I ate the right things at the right times, pumping me up before stage time and being his usual super supportive self.
I honestly have never found it so easy to stick to a plan as I wasn’t hungry, I felt great, energised and I always left the gym happy and satisfied knowing what I was working towards. I have more comps to go and will definitely be continuing this journey with Reece, but post-comp health is extremely important too so I can safely say that I will be with Enterprise Fitness for a very, very, very long time. They really are the best in the business!
